Birch
Plywoods
for
aircraft, boats, and models.
Finnish birch plywood is manufactured to GL 1 standard for aircraft construction.
This standard demands microscopic inspection of veneers for faults. Plywood
is available with a release note for home construction of registered aircraft.

Not only
aircraft have wings! The wing sail of this C-Class catamaran was built
with a birch plywood framework, then covered with cloth. The hulls are
a combination of gaboon plywood sides and decks, and the bottom moulded
from two layers of 1.0mm birch plywood. A slightly lower standard of birch
plywood is available for marine and hobby use, and for non-structual aircraft
components.
Modellers the world over use birch plywood for model aircraft, boats and
railways. Birch plywood is also ideal for architectual models, and for
specialist construction applications. It's waterproof glueline makes it
ideal for outdoor applications.
